No. 184; black woodchuck hide, bark tanned deer hide, vegetable tanned cowhide, antique buckle, antique bone button.  Powder horn by Billy Griner; knife by Daniel Casey; primer horn by Orville Mumma; roundball tube, knife sheath, hemp cord with pan whisk and vent pick by Clifton Hicks.  Flint wallet, river cane powder measure, and ball starter by Eric Ewing. Buckeye for good luck from Paul Fennewald of Missouri.

No. 176; Folk art inspired heart-shaped pouch:  Barktan deer hide, unknown cervid hair-on hide, vegetable tanned goat hide, antique overshot coverlet remnants, steel buckle. Pictured with vintage Barlow pocket knife and southern banded powder horn by maker Rick Sheets.

#118 - Pouch with Ron Hess Horn

Last year I brought two deer hides from hunting season to a tannery in Montgomery, NY named Pergamena (https://www.pergamena.net/).  They tanned both hides using chestnut tannins, which makes for a much different color and texture than typical commercial vegetable tanned hides.  That leather was used to make this pouch.  The strap was made Kris Polizzi and the banded horn by Ron Hess; both were aged by me.  The pouch also has an antique buckle.
