#86 - 19th Annual Shandaken Biathlon First Prize Shot Pouch

This pouch is made from cowhide, hair on calfhide, and pig skin.  There is a simple geometric pattern tooled on the flap, which is lined with a gray pillow ticking, and an oval buckle. The pouch was made as a first place prize for the 19th Annual Shandaken Primitive Biathlon, an annual winter sporting event in the Catskill Mountains of New York, using snowshoes and black powder muzzle loading firearms. More information can be found here: http://www.shandakenprimitivebiathlon.net/

Double pouch made from hair-on calf hide, cow hide, and pig hide trim.  Translucent banded powder horn by Ron Hess.

Pouch #70, calf-hair

This pouch is made from cowhide, pigskin and hair-on calf-hide.  The strap was woven by Kris Polizzi and has a steel roller buckle.

Small barktan pouch with horn and accoutrements

This is simple bark-tan deer hide pouch of two-piece construction.  The strap is made from cowhide and has a hand-forged steel buckle.  Along with the powder horn, there is a copper wire vent pic and a brass powder measure attached to the pouch.
