D Shaped Pouch #2

This d shaped pouch measures 8.5" at its widest along the top by 6.5" tall.  The body and flap are made from cowhide and the flap lining, welt and bindings are a lightweight pigskin.  There is a small inside pocket. The strap is made from a linen canvas and has a brass buckle for adjustment.  The decoration on the flap is inspired by various motifs from the southern backcountry and Pennsylvania Dutch designs.

Open Top Pouch #1

This open top pouch was inspired by illustrations in "Sketches of Hunting Pouches, Powder Horns and Accoutrements of Southern Appalachia" by Jim Webb.  It is made from homespun fabric with a brown linen lining for extra strength and was treated with beeswax and linseed oil.  It measures 7.25" wide by 8" tall.  There is an antique bone button for closure and an adjustable leather strap.  The powder horn was made by Tim Crosby.  I made the small copper vent pick and 25 grain measure from cane.

D Shaped Pouch #1

This pouch is made from cowhide that was stained with a combination of materials and worked over with brown shoe polish and oil.  The flap is decorated with an image of an angel from Pennsylvania Dutch motifs.  The bag is lined with a brown linen.  The strap, also made of brown linen, is adjusted by a pair of brass buttons.  The pouch measures 7" x 7".

Ball pouches

These are a pair of ball pouches I made to go with turned antler spouts made by artisan Sparks Mumma (a little stain was added for color and age).  One is made from cowhide and holds .50 caliber balls and the second is made from hemp with a repair and holds .45 caliber balls.  They were inspired by various ball bags seen in the book "Gettin' The Lead Out" by Karl Z. Smith.

Kidney shaped pouch

This kidney shaped pouch measures 9.5" wide by 8" tall. It has a hanging inside pocket and a small exterior pocket on the rear. The flap is lined with pillow ticking on the inside and the outside is decorated with a pair of rosettes. There is an iron buckle, a brass button for the front and a small antique bone button for the little back pocket.  It is made from cowhide and stained with vinegar/rust.
